Yellapur comes under Western Ghats section of Karnataka. The most fascinating thing about Yellapur is two famous natural falls, and many other hills and valleys.
Satoddi falls/ ಸಾತೊಡ್ಡಿ ಜಲಪಾತ್ : It is one of the most beautiful falls in Karnataka. It is at distance of 25 km from Yellapur town. It is not possible to visit the falls in rainy season. November to April is the best time to visit the falls. On the outskirts of Yellapur, traveling towards Hubli, is the left turn that leads to Satoddi. Part of the road is an all-weather road but a portion, nearly one-third the distance, is not motorable during rains. The stretch of the road alongside the river Kali is breathtakingly beautiful, especially in the evening.
ಮಾಗೊಡ್ಥ ಫಾಲ್ಸ್/Magod Falls: As the name indicates Magod falls comes near a village called Magod. After about 1.5 km from Yellapur on the Yellapur-Karwar Highway(NH-63), you have to turn left which takes up to Magod falls. Magod waterfalls is situated 19 km away from Yellapur, in the Magodu village. Here, the Bedthi river takes two distinct leaps to hurtle from a height of 650 ft. into a rocky ravine. The thickly wooded countryside, the roar of gushing water and a beautiful view combine to make this spot an ideal choice for outings. Near the falls, there is a sun set point called Jenu Kallu Gudda where you can see a beautiful view of the sun set. There is a beautiful village called Kalache, amid serene mountains, just 30 km from Yellapur. Hundreds of tourists visit this beautiful place every year. On the way from Yellapur to Magod falls, there is a beautiful lake in the midst of ever green forest called Kavdi Kere.
